UNBELIEVABLE: Meet Namibian Tribe Where Children Are Conceived in Mother’s Mind

Africa is full of interesting and inspiring traditions. The vivid example is the Himba tribe of Namibia. These people believe their children are conceived from the day the mother thinks about them in their mind.

namibia_tribe
The birth date of a child is counted not from when they were born, nor from when they are conceived, but from the day that the child was a thought in its mother’s mind.
When a woman decides that she will have a child, she goes off and sits under a tree, by herself, and she listens until she can hear thesong of the child that wants to come. And after she’s heard the song of this child, she comes back to the man who will be the child’s father, and teaches it to him. And then, when they make love to physically conceive the child, some of that time they sing the song of the child, as a way to invite it.
When the mother is pregnant, she teaches that child’s song to the midwives and the old women of the village, so that when the child is born, the old women and the people around her sing the child’s song to welcome it.
As the child grows up, the other villagers are taught the child’s song. For example, if the child falls, hurts its knee, someone picks it up and sings its song to it.
When the child does something wonderful, or goes through the rites of puberty, then as a way of honoring this person, the people of the village sing his or her song.
In the African tribe there is one other occasion upon which the villagers sing to the child. If at any time during his or her life, the person commits a crime or aberrant social act, the individual is called to the center of the village and the people in the community form a circle around him. Then they sing their song to him!..
The tribe recognizes that the correction for antisocial behavior is not punishment; it is love and the remembrance of identity. When you recognize your own song, you have no desire or need to do anything that would hurt another.
And it goes this way through their life. In marriage, the songs are sung, together. And finally, when this person is lying in bed, ready to die, all the villagers know his or her song, and they sing – for the last time – the song to that person.
What do you think about such a tradition?

TOUCHING STORY: how a groom cheated on his wife

I have a female friend in my place of work who is HIV positive. I am the only one that is aware of her status. I stand by her and advice on how she can go about her normal life. I pity her a lot; she has no relationship because of her HIV status. Today,I received a call from her that she wants me to advice her on what just happened between her
and our co-worker. She began to explain how she had unprotected s*x with the guy. I became so annoyed. I shouted at her, I asked her why she allowed such thing to happen when she knows her status.
She explained how the guy came to pick her up for party and later took her to his place late at night. She said she never had the intention of being intimate with the guy but the guy insisted. She said that when the guy was adamant, she succumbed to the guy’s
pressure, and asked him of condom. The guy said he did not have condom, that she should not worry that he trusts her. She said she did not want the guy to know her status, moreover she too needed the s*x badly after a long period of not being intimate. Eventually, they did it. The problem now is that she said after the s*x,the guy told her that he is preparing for his wedding
ceremony which would hold in December. After the breaking news, she became worried knowing great damage she might have caused the guy. She said she has been crying since the incident. She said I should advice her on what to do. I said she should call the company doctor for advice because
it was the doctor that discovered she has been infected and helped her to bury the secret to avoid losing her job. She said she can’t call the doctor because the doctor always warn her not have unprotected s*x with anybody. I asked her to tell the guy himself so that he can know the condition of
things before going further to have unprotected s*x with his fiancee or any other girl.a
The convoy was intimidating, People scampered for safety, other road users veered off the road in what looked like a scene in Hollywood movies, if you thought it was a war scene, you were wrong! Because making use of that narrow way that day was not a military head of state but an un-elected wife of a political office holder!
In a story that circulated on the internet recently, one Ola Adeosun narrated how he became victim of the over-zealous security officials of the Oyo State Governor just because he happened to share the road while the Governor’s  convoy at that time. More worrisome was his allegation that the show of brutality and unclad force was supervised by a senior police officer.
According to him, for daring to challenge the security officials on why his vehicle was hit, he was beaten blue-black, dragged on the floor and hurled into a police truck where he was transported to the police station. This is one of such executive lawlessness that has become part of our political space.
Alas, the whole Nation was to be put in mourning mood days later when a vehicle in the convoy of the Governor of Kogi State, Idris Wada crashed into a Toyo Hiace bus conveying an erstwhile President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof Festus Iyayi to the proposed ASUU NEC Meeting somewhere along the Lokoja-Abuja expressway killing him on the spot while two other ASUU chiefs were critically injured.
According to the Kogi state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Mr Olatunde Motajo, the recklessness of the Governor’s convoy drivers led to the fatal accident that claimed Iyayi’s life. According to him, the last vehicle in the convoy of the Governor made ‘’wrongful overtaking’’ thereby ramming into the bus conveying the ASUU chiefs.
Intimidations of the Nigerian citizenry by the political class as well as influential public figures when making use of our roads is fast becoming a shame that we should be ashamed of. Ours is about the only country in a democratic setting where political office holders not only use public funds to acquire excessive security vehicles but also use same to oppress its citizenry. The sight of drivers in the convoy of politicians, escorts, bank officials and the ‘fat-cats’ in the society  breaking traffic rules is a regular occurrence that not only elicits anger from the citizenry but also cause accidents that claim lives.
In a bid to impress their masters, over-zealous ‘monsters’ in uniforms intimidate other road users whenever they make use of the roads. They flagrantly abuse the rights of other road users, forcing other drivers off the road while those who have the guts to argue with them over their right to also use the road are molested and physically abused. It is important for us to remind ourselves that this is a democratic setting where the Leaders have an obligation to serve the people. The government has a sacred to duty to ensure the security and welfare of the citizenry (the very essence of Government), it is thus unthinkable that these same people who should be the ones protecting us are sending a lot of us to our graves prematurely
Just when one thought the Iyayi’s case would be a call for caution for political office holders, another tragedy happened on Wednesday, less than twenty-four hours after the accident that claimed Iyayl’s life. According to The PUNCH, a convoy of seven vehicles consisting of three escort vans containing Policemen caused an accident in Lagos. It was reported that the convoy connected the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway recklessly without checking for oncoming vehicles, and unfortunately a Tipper moving on high speed in a bid to avoid the convoy swerved of the road and lost control killing two persons and injuring several others.
The recklessness of drivers attached to political office holders have caused untold hardship and pain to many families. The recklessness of an individual has caused the indefinite suspension of the National Executive Council ( NEC) meeting of ASUU, where votes to end the over four months ASUU strike was expected to have been taken, thus shattering the hopes of million of Nigeria who hoped that the industrial action would be suspended this week.
Public officials should as a matter of urgency reduce the long list of vehicles in their convoys, it is totally unnecessary, apart from the fact that their maintenance amounts to a waste of tax payers money, it is a show of intimidation on hapless citizens who service these vehicles with their taxes. Political office holders and all those who are entitled to usage of escorts should curb the excessiveness of their security details, after-all, the drivers and security escorts do all these to impress them.
It should be noted that the drivers of these vehicles are not immune to prosecution and so the Traffic compliance agencies should step-up their job and bring erring drivers to book. Also, we should strengthen our Traffic laws such that any offender, no matter how highly placed is prosecuted dully. All these will put recalcitrant drivers in check and ensure that sanity returns to our roads.

OMG: ASUU strike gone indefinite

Leaders of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, yesterday, suspended indefinitely the union’s National Executive Council, NEC, meeting planned to hold in Kano over the tragic auto-crash that claimed the life of ASUU former President, Professor Festus Iyayi, on Tuesday morning.

Thousands of students who had kept vigil, waiting for the outcome of ASUU NEC meeting, therefore went home disappointed following the announcement of the suspension of the meeting.
The accident which involved the convoy of Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State on Lokoja-Abuja Road also left two other officials of ASUU – Dr. Ngozi Ilo, National Welfare Officer, University of Benin, UNIBEN; branch chairman, Dr. Anthony Emina, and their driver, critically injured.
President of ASUU, Dr. Nasir Fagge, who announced the suspension of the NEC meeting in Kano, explained that the union had to suspend the meeting following the sudden and tragic death of Professor Festus Iyayi.
The NEC meeting was widely expected to make a decisive statement on the five-month old ASUU strike that has crippled academic activities in the public university system.
At a briefing, Fagge told reporters in Kano that “we are compelled to postpone this meeting in the light of the sudden death of one of our strongest pillars who died yesterday (Tuesday).
“As you can see for yourself, we are mourning the departure of this great scholar and you would agree with me that in this circumstance we cannot look at issues objectively.”
The ASUU President who looked visibly shocked by the unfortunate development, described Iyayi “as a strong pillar of the union,’ stressing that “this is a great loss to the entire country.”
Over 50 universities were represented at the botched Kano NEC meeting which was to deliberate on the outcome of the branch meetings held recently that was key to the decision on suspension of the strike.

No new date has been fixed for the NEC meeting.
However, labour watchers are of the opinion that ASUU may not reschedule the NEC meeting until after the burial of the late professor.

Thousands of students that had kept vigil waiting for the outcome went home disappointed following the announcement of the suspension of the NEC meeting.
A student who spoke with Vanguard on condition of anonymity, said, “this is a clear indication that we have more days to spend at home because the figure that passed on was an icon and a respected voice.”
He expressed disappointment that the Federal Government had not arrested those that caused the fatal accident, stressing that “the only thing that can cool frayed nerves is to put on trial all those that played infamous roles in the accident.”

THE REMAINS OF IYANYI FINALLY MOVED TO BENIN

Prof-Iyayi-1
The remains of former president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Prof. Festus Iyayi, who died in an auto crash on Lokoja-Abuja road, while traveling to Kano for the union’s National Executive Council(NEC) meeting, were on Wednesday moved from Lokoja to Benin by his relations.
According to the Chief Medical Director, Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, Dr. Paul Amodu, the late professor’s younger brother, led other relations to collect the corpse at about 12 noon, with an ambulance of the Federal University, Lokoja.
He added that the team also comprised officials from the University of Benin.
Amodu said that Iyayi was brought in dead to the hospital few minutes after noon on Tuesday.
He said that the National Welfare Officer of ASUU, Dr Ngozi Ilo and Dr Anthoni Emina, were also brought to the hospital with various degrees of injuries and fracture, but they have been taken away from the hospital by their relations.
The medical director said that the possible cause of late Iyayi’s death might be a left rib injury which, he said penetrated into his heart.
He also talked of shock as the late professor was believed to be hypertensive and had some drugs found on him as at the time of the crash.
Amodu said all the victims were treated free of charge as directed by Gov. Idris Wada of Kogi State.
Late Prof. Iyayi, along with other members of ASUU, were on their way to Kano to attend the NEC meeting of the union when their bus and a car on Gov. Wada Idris motorcade collided.

World’s Thinnest And Bravest Person? Meet Girl, 24, Who Weighs 27 kg, Has To Eat Every 20 Minutes (PHOTOS)

United States – At just 5ft 2″ (1.58m) tall and weighing a little over 27 kg, Lizzie Velasquez, 24, appears worryingly thin at first glance. But her tiny frame wasn’t caused by an eating disorder. Instead, it is the result of a syndrome so rare that it is shared by very few other people in the world.

 lizzie_velasquez_1
Her condition means that try as she might, Lizzie, from Austin in Texas, finds it impossible to gain weight or store fat, and as a result, she’s forced to eat up to 60 small meals a day.
Despite the challenges, the courageous 24-year-old insists she wouldn’t change a thing about herself and, instead, throws herself into her work as a motivational speaker and anti-bullying campaigner.
“I would never, ever change my appearance, even if I could,” she says. “It’s taken me so many years to accept who I am and like the person that I see in the mirror so I would never change it just to “fit in”.”
photo - World's Thinnest And Bravest Person? Meet Girl, 24, Who Weighs 27 kg, Has To Eat Every 20 Minutes (PHOTOS)
But despite her bravery, the condition, which is yet to be fully diagnosed and named, casts a shadow over her life, not least because most of the people who suffer from the syndrome die in childhood.
Her doctor says: “Lizzie is one of the very few people in the world to have this condition. Sufferers have very little muscle mass, their limbs look very thin, spindly, and many of these people, they die very early in life. Other children with this have had very different experiences. Lizzie is 24 right now so she has beaten these odds.”
Because of the illness, Lizzie has already lost the sight in her right eye and has limited use of the other. Nevertheless, she has refused to allow that to stop her and has penned two best-selling books, and works as a motivational speaker doing up to 200 talks a year.
“My parents raised me to be completely normal. They never told me I was different,” she narrates. “The only thing is that I was smaller than the other kids but I was just like them. As I got older, I became more aware of why people were staring at me and I started getting really angry.
photo - World's Thinnest And Bravest Person? Meet Girl, 24, Who Weighs 27 kg, Has To Eat Every 20 Minutes (PHOTOS)
“I hated the fact that none of these kids wanted to get to know me. In my mind, I’m just like them and I would never tell my parents I was being bullied so my way of coping with it is when I would take a bath and nobody was in the room with me, and that’s when I would cry.”
Once, she saw a photo of herself on the Internet with a caption ‘The Ugliest Woman In The World’.
“I felt like somebody was putting their hand through the computer screen and punching me over and over,” she says. “There were thousands and thousands of comments. The first one said: “I just threw up over my keyboard. You’re gross.” The second, “eww, kill it with fire, now”. Others asked why my parents didn’t abort me because I’m so ugly. Can you imagine that?”
Despite the vile comments, Lizzie says she has no fear of bullies anymore and if she were to meet one in future, her response would be: ‘I won’.
For now, she’s concentrating on the future and the anti-bullying charity she hopes to set up.
“My dreams for the future are continuing to help others,” she explains. “I want to create an anti-bulling company. Something for kids and adults and teenagers who are struggling and so far, my dreams have come true.”

TO THE MEN!!!! - Questions To Ask A Woman Before she "YES" to ur proposal

Here is a better way of understanding the issue of marriage from a different angle,  where some have plunged into a ditch of marriage with unending regret. But here are some questions you can ask your self  before saying the "I DO" version....

Religion
Ask her:
Do you believe in God?

This helps you find out how compatible your faiths and religious rituals are.
In a study of 120 married couples, those who shared religious holiday rituals reported more marital satisfaction than the pairs who practiced holiday rituals separately.
It’s not necessarily the religion itself that’s key—though the particular religion you practice can certainly be a huge issue with her family—it’s all the things that go with it. When you engage in celebrations and rituals, there’s usually a lot of planning involved, something to look forward to that’s meaningful to discuss.

Your Work
Ask her:
What was your dad’s work schedule like?

You need to find out whether she’s already lived with a man who had the same work ethic and schedule as yours.
Maybe her dad worked a 7-to-3 shift every day of his life, came home and played with the kids until they went to bed, and never worked weekends. Maybe he owned a business and set his own hours so he was always home for dinner.
But your job—or your future job—may require late meetings, 60-hour workweeks, and business trips. And that can put stress on a relationship.
“Working until 9, 10, sometimes later, night after night, is a constant source of stress with my wife,” a friend of mine in publishing told me. “She still doesn’t understand that this is the nature of the business at deadline time. It’s not the life she was used to.”

 Her Work Money
Ask her:
What’s your dream job? Where would you most like to live?

You need to know her goals, and how far she’s willing to go to reach them.
Just asking shows support for her career, an important factor. Those who felt they had more support had greater satisfaction than those who felt unsupported.
It’s also a good time to find out how far she’s willing to move away from her family. It’s a very under-appreciated area of stress—where are you going to live, whose family are you going to live near—yours or hers?.

 MONEY

Ask her:
What would you do if you won N50,000,000 in the lottery?

You must find out her financial priorities.
One of the biggest problems couples have is money and, specifically, differences in styles of spending and attitudes about their budget. You’ll learn how she views money, saving, and long-term investing.
Will all of it go toward cars and trips, or most toward retirement? It’s not essential that you share the same investment strategies. What’s important is to use the conversation to prompt a discussion about financial behavior: how you pay bills, invest the year-end bonus, or decide on major purchases. If your attitudes don’t mesh, now’s the time to get the issues on the table and build a consensus.

Her Family

Ask her:
What’s your favorite holiday? How does your family spend it?

It’s important to learn about her family roots.
Where you spend the holidays can be a huge political issue. The underlying issue is whose family comes first, and that stands for who has the power in the relationship.

DISCUSTING!!!!! See The Weirdest Wedding Cake Ever

BXhb-RuCUAEeW9E
Every couple dreams of having a killer wedding. These two set their sights on a killer wedding cake.
Texas newlyweds David and Natalie Sideserf decided to take the phrase “Till death do us part” to a whole new level by crafting a custom cake to give the line its due.
The result was a hyperrealistic cake depicting both of their heads, severed and bleeding on the floor. Their glazed-over, lifeless eyes stare both into the afterlife and at wedding attendees.
“It was perfect for us,” she said.
The guests, however, were a bit harder to win over. “I didn’t tell anybody about it, so it made it really interesting to see people’s reactions,” Natalie told ABC News. “Everybody was shocked and loved it.”
“My grandma did look twice, but in the end she said she appreciated the detail and how realistic it was,” she added.

UNBEIEVABLE!!! Why This 75-Year-Old Grandpa Killed Himself

It was gathered that Adisa, 75, had been having issues with a financial institution which gave him a loan facility. He was said to have terminated his life to prevent being ridiculed.
A family source told journalist, who visited the residence, that none of the family members knew the actual amount of money the deceased owed.
Two of his commercial buses were said to have been confiscated by his creditors, while the third bus was found parked in front of the house on Wednesday.
According to the family source, the deceased woke up early and prepared for the morning prayer at a mosque opposite his residence and his relatives were, however, surprised that the septuagenarian did not attend the prayer despite preparing for it.
On returning to the house, the family members headed for his room but did not find him there. Adisa, who was dressed in a black singlet and yellow lace trousers, was said to have be found later dangling on a rope tied to the roof of the storeroom.
Some members of the family blamed the suicide on spiritual forces, saying the deceased had grown up children who could assist him to repay the loan.
Members of the Disaster Management and Rescue Team of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps led by one Mr. Femi Awofade, was seen at the residence.
The Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Mr. Ayo Olowe, said, “We got information that a man committed suicide at Ayepe this morning (Wednesday).  Our men went to the scene to see what actually happened. We have called the police and investigation to unravel the mystery behind the incident is ongoing.”

6 Stunning Pictures That Will Blow Up Your Mind

What is it about the strange, unusual, or bizarre that fascinates us? Amid a world where normal is defined as "conforming to a standard", and "usual, typical, or expected", something about the odd, weird, or just plain out of the ordinary creates a pull, a curiosity, and an appeal. It is with that in mind that these six facts are collected, to sate the craving for both the unique and the unexpected.

1. Pupula Duplex

2. Cannabis stave off HIV

"The Journal of Leukocyte Biology" published a discovery involving the use of Tetrahydrocannabinol, more commonly known as THC in marijuana, to impair the most common and widely found strain of Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). When the virus was injected into the white blood cells that defend the immune system, then exposed to THC, it was discovered that the cells actually increased their ability to fight against the virus

3. Drop Of Water In Slow Motion(10,000 fps)

This is what a waterdrop dropped onto water looks like when filmed at 10,000 frames-per-second. It behaves similar to a bouncy ball, called the coalescence cascade, in that the droplet dumps about half of its water into the pool of water below, then bounces back up into the air, and repeats until there’s nothing left.

4. Evolving Underwater Sculptures

In an effort to preserve the world's natural coral reefs, Jason de Caires Taylor designed and built underwater sculpture museums, hoping to boost the habitation of sea life that scientists have predicted to be without habitat by 2050. The underwater sculpture park was founded in 2006 off of the coast of Grenada. The sculptures take on a life of their own and are eventually consumed by the natural sea life as part of their ecosystem, with some strategic placement, of course. Even National Geographic stood up to take notice when they named Taylor's first underwater sculpture park to be one of the 25 Wonders of the World

5. Mickey Mouse Craters On Mercury
Since March of 2012, NASA's Messenger probe has circled Mercury, our smallest planet and closest to our sun in our solar system. The probe has sent back hundreds of images, but one in particular tickled scientists. Discovered in the northwest of the "Magritte" crater in Mercury's south, a likeness of Mickey Mouse was imprinted among the build-up of craters that litter Mercury's surface

6. The magnetic 'bubble' that is protecting the Earth from solar particles

We may view our planet to move slowly, but due to recent images released by NASA, it was discovered that earth moves through space fast enough for it's magnetosphere, or energy surrounding our planet, to create a bow wave, much like the water in front of a sailing ship. Much of what happens at the front of Earth's bow wave affects Earth's magnetic field, and scientists are using this data to better understand space weather and other such affects of external energy to the Earth's magnetosphere
